Then a couple weeks ago when I was considering the goal of removing all/close to all of the non-handmade items from my closet and I figured maybe I could actually do with a pair of Hudson Pants.
Then after a trip to the fabric store for something else, I all of a sudden decided that what I really did in fact need was a pair of forest green panne velour Hudson Pants. But when I went back the next day it was all gone. So after cursing the person who needed the forest green for their Halloween costume, I settled for blue. I wanted the bands to be black but settled on a grey-blue I already had which doesn't match as well as I hoped but this was an emergency.
I confess I broke one of my cardinal rules of sewing with these which was sewing in a rush. I had an essay I really needed to work on, and even though I stubbornly chose to stick with them, I wasn't really enjoying myself because the whole time I felt like I needed to be doing something else.
However I did enjoy that they came together easily yet I still learned something, having never done that kind of pocket before. I made a straight size 4 and added 1.5" to the length. I took the measurements right after dinner a rounded up a bit though, and I think I would've preferred a size 2 (next time!).
I've been calling them my swag pants because it irritates my father who has a deeply rooted dislike for sweatpants in general and the laziness they apparently stand for. I also call them such because wearing them makes me do lunges around the house quoting Arnold Schwarzenegger- "The best activities for your health are humping and pumping!"in a terrible accent. My father isn't a fan of this either.
Thanks for reading!
